The Sonos PLAY:3 is the second smallest speaker that Sonos make and is becoming more and more affordable at the price of £259.

The PLAY:3 offers crystal-clear, room filling sound from 3 speakers individually coupled with state-of the-art amplifiers to deliver great sound in any room. The PLAY:3 contains a bass radiator that provides powerful bass. The tweeter and 2 mid-range drivers fill out the rest of the sound with crisp and accurate playback of vocals and instruments.

It provides access to "all the music on earth” through over 100,000 free radio stations as well as services like Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer and JUKE. In addition to all of these internet streaming services it will also play music from up to 16 PCs supporting all of the most popular audio formats.

There is however a lack of connectivity with the PLAY:3 and some of the other Sonos products as it does not allow you to connect external media sources unless you buy one of their accessories. It also does not have any bluetooth connectivity so you won’t be listening to that Youtube video on your PLAY:3.

I use the PLAY:3 on a daily basis, using the smartphone app I have setup an alarm every morning that will turn on to the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show and automatically shut itself off after an hour when I leave for work. The smartphone app allows for easy control of all streaming services and free radio stations, there is also a desktop version available for Windows and Mac.

When multiple Sonos products are on the same network they can all play different songs in different rooms or there is the possibility to create a group where they will all be synced to play the same thing.

I would definitely suggest the Sonos PLAY:3 as well as their other products as they produce high quality audio without taking up too much space and are well connected with an almost endless supply of music.
